southeast alaska wildlife ecology is a heuristic semiosis of animal signSEAWEAD’s mission to facilitate cooperative stewardship means gaining support from, and establishing partnerships with, all parties interested in the special places we visit. Our greatest successes have been realized because our partners have been willing to try something new and engage in cooperative efforts with us. We are proud to have broad representation in our projects from: government agencies, educational institutions, tourism businesses and groups, and other non-profit organizations. SEAWEAD receives its funding from many of its partners, and from private foundations, federal and state government contracts, business donations, and individuals like you!

There are many ways that you can help seawead stay afloat.

You can volunteer as a field assistant. We are always looking for curious, hard working people who can commit 2-6 weeks of their summer to learn about this beautiful place we call home. Email us at to find out what openings we have for the upcoming season.

You can donate goods or services. Much of the work that we do is supported by in-kind donations of equipment and skilled labor. Please contact us at to find out how to we could best put your talents to use.

You can contribute financially. SEAWEAD is 501 (c-3) Non-profit organization and we gratefully accept donations. Money is used to sustain our essential operations, such as producing newsletters, maintaining our vital communication services, and providing opportunities for people like you to join us in the field. Personal contributions generally range from $25 - $2000. We promise to make the most out of every dollar you give, and will honor any requests to fund particular programs. Checks may be sent to our headquarters at 3845 N. Douglas Highway in Juneau, AK 99801. You can also donate online using this button:
